Playschool

Alaska Wildlife Photography

Young Polar Bear cubs tumble and wrestle with boundless energy, their playful bouts hiding the critical survival lessons wired into every move. A mother's patient tolerance of their relentless gnawing is more than affection — it is the foundation of the hunters they will one day become.

About This Photograph

“Playschool”

“…Young Polar Bear cubs convey a tremendous amount of energy in play. When not rough and tumbling over each other, they will take on ‘Mom’ one at a time at every opportunity.
